I was originally inspired to design the Henderson from a school project about modernism in contemporary design. Later I personally developed this project to be much more.
The User
The user of the Henderson are discerning home owners who are interested in expanding their clothing storage in an elegant and effortless way.
Research
Home Furniture
The market for contempory home furniture is a mature market with a standar growth rate of 3.8 CGAR. It is important to note the neich custom furniture market is a sub-category of home furniture that quality is prioritized over the cost of the furniture piece.
User Problems
Problems discovered through market research and interviews were mainly centered on the fact that interviewees wanted a contemporary clothing storage solution that made everyday life easier and more efficient when maintaining their clothing.
Contemporary Wood
Inspired by natural clean contemporary modern furniture, the Henderson stylistic direction was forged in the taste of the interviewed user group
